More information

T/Sgt Francis A. Sullivan was employed as a shipping clerk.

He enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 5 May 1942.

The aircraft was badly damaged with fire in the bomb bay and flight deck. It exploded shortly after being hit.

Per T/Sgt Charles B. Molina:
While the ship was burning, T/Sgt Sullivan tried to open the bomb bay however the hydraulic system was out. I told him to try to ail out the nose wheel door. He headed toward the nose compartment. Germans told us at Dulag Luft Interrogation Center at Frankfurt, that they had found the body of T/Sgt Sullivan.
