More information

Merrill Conoway was employed at the Glenn L. Martin Company in Baltimore before he enlisted on 17 September 1943 in Camden, New Jersey.

His aircraft was lost in a mid-air collision on a mission to Koblenz, Germany. Another B-24, flying erratically in cloudy conditions, dropped down into his aircraft and sending it into a spin and tearing the tail section off the other aircraft. Both planes crashed near Ingelmunster, Belgium.
