S/Sgt Bonifacio P. Salmon attended Theodore Roosevelt High School and worked in transportation.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the U.S. Army in Los Angeles, California on 27 October 1942.

Statement of 2nd Lt George C. Sfarnas:
"I saw an enemy fighter go after Lt. Neal's ship and a few minutes later I saw the ship burst into flames."

The entire crew was killed and initially interred in a common grave in the Northeast corner of the cemetery of Edemissen on 22 February 1944.
