S/Sgt Harry Rosenthal volunteered for the Air Corps of the U.S. Army in New York City, New York on 22 October 1942. He attended high school for 4 years and was a shipping clerk before he joined the army.Statement of 2nd Lt George C. Sfarnas:
"I saw an enemy fighter go after Lt. Neal's ship and a few minutes later I saw the ship burst into flames."
The entire crew was killed and initially interred in a common grave in the Northeast corner of the cemetery of Edemissen on 22 February 1944.
