Pvt James E. Staley attended high school for two years and was a welder employed by Whitehead & Kales Company in River Rouge, Michigan, before he enlisted at Fort Hayes, Ohio on 1 September 1944.He was married to Juanita Hardy on 5 July 1941.
He was killed by a bullet to the chest.
