Sgt Wilbur W. Blunt attended high school for two years and was employed at the Louis Kully Hastings Hide and Fur Co.

He enlisted in Boise, Idaho on 11 June 1942 and was sent overseas on 22 August 1944.

Sgt Blunt is remembered at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska with a memorial marker.
