Pvt Roy C. Rackett attended St. Mary's School in Griffith and Hammond Technical School, then he was employed at the Pleasant View Dairy Company before he enlisted at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 25 March 1943.He was killed by small arms fire.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
