Cpl Elay J. Fung attended college for one year and was a housekeeper before he enlisted in Lafayette, Louisiana on 23 November 1943. He was sent overseas in May 1944.He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his stomach.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
