2nd Lt Paul J. McHale was graduated from Hanover Township Memorial High School and Bloomsburg State Teachers College before he enlisted in Wilkes-Barre on 10 May 1941.In October 1944 he received a battlefield promotion to Lieutenant and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for heroism. He was wounded on 15 November 1944 and was hospitalized in England until early in March 1945 when he rejoined his unit.
