Robert Victor graduated from Culver Military Academy and Cornell University.

He was married to Winifred Hoopes on 3 September 1941.

He was sent overseas in late May 1944.

1Lt Robert J. Victor’s unit was assigned to clear the woods on the Battalion’s left flank at Korperich, a town vitally important to secure a river crossing, as he led his platoon forward “Bob” was shot in the head by a German sniper. Death was instantaneous.
