S/Sgt Frank W. Albaugh graduated from Thurmont High School and attended the University of Maryland before he enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland on 12 February 1943. He was sent overseas in May 1944 had been in France since July 1944.He was was slightly wounded in the leg by enemy fire in August 1944. He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
