Pfc John C. Mustard worked for the Hoyt Machint Shop before he enlisted on 14 April 1942 at Indianapolis, Indiana. He was sent overseas in February 1944.Pfc Mustard was a crew member of a medium tank in an attack on the village of Wardin, Belgium, three miles southeast of Bastogne. About 200 yards west of the village his tank received a direct hit by anti-tank fire and it was set ablaze.
He was officially declared dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.
