Second Lieutenant Albert L. Kurtz III was serving with the Sixth Armored division with Gen. Patton's Third army.
He was graduated from Culver Military Academy in June, 1943 and entered officers' training school at Fort Knox, Ky. where he received his commission. He was sent overseas in January.
