More information
S/Sgt Arthur E. Wilson graduated from Westfield High School in 1942 and was employed at Westfield Motor Sales as a mechanic. He enlisted in Springfield, Massachusetts on 21 January 1943.
The airplane had to make an emergency landing on the advanced landing ground Y-29 (also known as Asch Y-29, Belgium). Three engines were out. The airplane was left on the airfield, damaged beyond repair. Sgt Wilson was the only crew member who was killed during the flight.
Because the airplane landed in Allied territory, no MACR of the crash was written.
