A graduate of Oil City High School in 1942, George Lenar was a member of the football team in 1941 and 1941, being co-captain the second year. George Lenar enlisted in the Air Corps on 12 november 1942. He received training at Las Vegas, Nev., Lowry Field, Colo., and Ephreta, Wash. He was moved to England in December 1943.Me 110 crashed into left wing, a/c in flames, disintegrated just before entering clouds.
News that S/Sgt Lenar was missing was received early March by his family, but because of the illness of his father it was withheld for the time being. His father died in November 1944.
