S/Sgt Emil Mateyak graduated from Lindblom Technical High School in 1939.

He enlisted in Chicago, Illinois on 22 August 1942.

Aircraft 330, piloted by Capt Pederson, left the formation right over the target, after flak knocked out 2 engines and was losing altitude rapidly. Six crew members successfully bailed out and survived and were taken prisoner. Four crew members were killed.
