A/C #189 was hit by flak 6 miles south of Koblenz at 1245 hours. Hit was between #3 and #4 engines, which set his right wing on fire. No. 4 engine was knocked out. A/C stayed level for 10 seconds, then made a slow right turn losing altitude, and trailed the formation for about 1/2 mile. A/C then lost right wing, going into flat spin and disintegrating. One chute was observed, with possibly 4 delayed jumps. Four men survived and were made POW, the remaining 5 crew members were KIA.
