More information

T/Sgt Daniel L. Bogue enlisted in Little Rock, Arkansas on 19 October 1942. He attended high school for 4 years and was a miner before he enlisted.

Returned crewmembers stated that between Brunswick and Hannover they were forced to leave formation because they had been attacked by enemy fighters who damaged the rear of the plane. When the pilot gave the order to bail out the entire crew did so. Daniel Bogue was hit in the hip and was hurt badly but he also parachuted with the aid of the pilot. Supposition is the Sgt Bogue was so badly wounded that he could not have possibly survived. He had lost a great amount of blood and was still bleeding profusely when he left the plane.

Several field investigations between 1947 and 1949 could not locate the exact place where he reached the ground.
