Lt. Harold W. Alsop graduated from Allendale High School (Illinois) in 1936 where he played basketball for four years and was in the Future Farmers of America organization. In January of 1937, he enlisted in the Army and was certified as an air mechanic. He entered flight school in 1942 and shortly thereafter earned his wings.Lt. Alsop is remembered at the Allendale Cemetery in Allendale, Wabash County, Illinois.
