2nd Lt Harvey A. Durant enlisted from Fairfield, Connecticut on 7 August 1942.

The aircraft lost two engines due to flak on the way over the Danish Peninsula and left the formation under control. Lt Durant was seriously wounded from the flakburst. He did not bail out of the plane and either died of wounds or was killed in the crash. Of the 10 men crew, 4 were KIA and 6 ended up POW.
