More information

Talmadge Naron worked in a textile factory.

He enlisted at Camp Shelby, Mississippi on 6 October 1942.

The airplane was attacked by enemy fighters at approximately 15.05 hrs. The oxygen system was shot out, the tale was shot off and just after most of the crew bailed out it exploded.

Sgt Naron was killed on the first enemy plane attack. The time of the attack was when the fighter escort had to turn back, which was in the vicinity of the border between the Netherlands and Germany. The fire from the enemy plane hit the tail of the airplane and one .303 hit Sgt Naron fatally. He was dead within one minute after he was hit.

Eight crew members were taken prisoner, two men were killed.
