Bobb F. Ross attended college for two years.

He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Seattle, Washington on 6 March 1942.
The airplane was attacked by German fighters. The nose, cockpit and #2 engine were on fire.

According to French witnesses all the crew members were seen to bail out and one of the parachutes didn't open.

Five crew members were taken prisoner, four men evaded capture and with the help of the Franch resistance returned to England. Lt Ross was the only casualty.
