Charles Blondell was a chauffeur.

He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 3 February 1942.

The airplane was rammed by a Me-109 after the bomb run. It blew up and disintegreated.

Two crew members were taken prisoner, eight men were killed.
