T/Sgt Raymond E. Floyd worked on the family farm before he enlisted at Fort Thomas, Kentucky on 6 July 1942.

In August 1944, he was wounded at an arm by artillery shell fragments. He left the hospital in October 1944.

He died from wounds and a fracture of his leg.
