Fl/O Leroy L. Luno joined the Regular Army in Detroit, Michigan on 23 September 1942.This B-26 crashed into a moutain while en route from Florennes, Belgium to its new base in Schleissheim killing all 10 men on board. On board were four crew and six passengers. All were killed.
On one picture Leroy is on the left, right after he graduated flight school and before he left for Europe.
His father, Royal, is next to him. He was a U.S. Marine in WWI and wounded in Belleau Wood. He volunteered in WWII for the U.S. Coast Guard.
