More information

In mid-afternoon on 10th September 1945, Capt Gerald Davies took off from Florrenes, Belgium to fly to R-75 to take charge of the 496th. BS detachment there. En route the weather in the Munich area deteriorated, became heavily overcast and fog was encountered. At this time the B26 was flying sixty miles south of its proposed track. While flying in fog the airplane crashed into a mountainside at Trauchgau, Germany, all on board being killed instantly on impact.
