T/5 George A. Sundahl graduated from the Opheim High School and in 1941 from the Luther College.He was first employed at the Luther College, but left it to engage in welfare work for the Montana State Welfare Commission.
He enlisted in Missoula, Montana on 19 June 1942.
He was killed in action in Italy by a booby trap and was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of San Martino, Carano, Italy.
His brother, 2nd Lt John C. Sundahl, is buried next to his brother.
