S/Sgt Robert R. Lane attended high school for four years and was a paymaster employed by the Light Heat Mfgr. Co.
He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 13 July 1942.
He was lightly wounded early November 1944 by artillery shell fragments in the thigh.

He was killed by machine gun fire in his thorax.
