More information

2nd Lt Erle J. Ferguson attended the Eau Claire High School in Wisconsin and was a member of the rifle club.
He was an accountant at the Spinning Mfg., Michigan before he enlisted.
According to the Morning Reports of his company, he was reported Missing in Action on 6 September 1944 together with another officer and 89 enlisted men during the crossing of the Moselle River in the vicinity of Vandières. Attempting to cross the river his company had to withdraw because of heavy enemy artillery and machine gun fire. Apparently their status was changed to Killed in Action a week later.
