Pvt Melvin B. Allen graduated from Rock Island High School in 1933 and was an assembler employed by Birtman Electric Co.He enlisted on 15 March 1944.
Pvt Allen received his training in Camp Wolters, Texas and Fort Meade, Maryland before being sent overseas in July 1944.
