1st Lt Jack D. Harris graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1940 and was a messenger.He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Los Angeles, California on 9 December 1941.
The airplane was shot down by flak over the target.
Seven crew members were killed, three men survived and were taken prisoner.
