Sgt James M. Rowell enlisted in Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia on 15 July 1943. He received training at Camp Plauchie, Louisiana and was overseas since March 1944.His daughter was only 27 months and hs son just 10 weeks old when he was killed.
