Pfc Isidor Kline attended high school for one year and worked in a shoe factory.

He joined the Regular Army in Fall River, Massachusetts on 9 September 1940 and served for three years in Panama, after which he was sent to Camp Stewart, Georgia, Camp Van Dorn, Mississippi and Fort Meade, Maryland.
