Sgt Warren T. Vasel graduated from Neptune High School in 1940. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad at the New York Terminal.He enlisted at Fort Dix, New Jersey on March the 19th, 1942. He was sent overseas in February, 1943.
The airplane was last seen being attacked by enemy fighters 10 miles west of Scharhom Island, heading east towards the island. Only one parachute was seen leaving the plane before it ditched into the North Sea.
The entire crew of ten men was killed.
