S/Sgt Almond Weed was employed at Humble Pipeline Company.

He enlisted in the Coast Artillery on 1 November 1941 at Fort Sam, Houston, Texas before transferring to the Air Corps. He was sent overseas in April 1943.

The aircraft was downed by enemy aircraft.

Eight crew members were taken prisoner, two men were killed.

He bailed out with the other members of the crew, was captured and taken to a jail. There he died early in the morning.
