T/Sgt Albert Swartz graduated from West high School and attended Akron University.He enlisted at Fort Hayes, Ohio on 20 February 1942.
The airplane was shot down by Hans-George Guthenke in Fw 190A-4.
Nine crew members survived and were taken prisoner, only T/Sgt Swartz was killed.
T/Sgt Swartz, seriously wounded by shrapnel, was unable to bail.
His son Eric Swart was born in November 1943. He gave him the nickname "Butch" before he was born.
