S/Sgt Michael Chernick enlisted on 17 August 1942 and was sent overseas in October 1944.Extract from S-2 Mission Report Regarding B-17F 42-30337:
"At about 1200 hours near Braunschweig, A/C 337 left formation and began to fall back, unable to close bomb bay doors. It was last observed in target area flying with two other stragglers at about 1203 hours. No chutes reported. It may be assumed that 337 was subjected to E/A attacks after it was last seen."
