2nd Lt Morris J. Volden attended high school for four years and was a carpenter.

He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Minneapolis, Minnesota on 27 April 1942.

The airplane was shot down by enemy fighters over the target. All nine crew members were killed. Due to the large number of bombers who were attacked and shot down in a very short period of time, no details are known about what exactly happened.
