1st Lt David N. Bennett Jr. attended college for 2 years and was a sales clerk. He joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army as a private in Charlotte, North Carolina on 8 October 1940.After an attack by enemy fighters, the airplane was last seen with the top turret missing and a large hole in the right wing. The entire crew of nine was killed. They were initially buried at the cemetery of Oerie.
