More information
Lt Bauer attended Purdue university in West Lafayette.Questionnaire by Ralph J Butler.
I know that I have not been able to give much information about Lt Bauer and Lt Yergey. We were under constant fighter attack from the time that we were first attacked until we had bailed out. I did not leave the plane until it had started down out of control. The plane was covered by fire and all the engines were shot out at the time I gave the crew order to bail out.
It is very possible that Lt Bauer was killed or wounded before he had the change to get out.
