More information

Joseph C. Greenwell graduated from the University of Kentucky and worked in the production of bakery products.

He joined the Regular Army at Fort Knox Kentucky on 7 September 1940 as a Aviation Cadet. He was sent overseas in January 1945.

The aircraft received a direct hit by flak while on his bomb run. The right wing came off and a large hole was observed in the left wing. The ship then blew up as it crashed into the water.

The entire crew is listed on the Walls of the Missing at Margraten.
