T/Sgt Ernest E. Steinseifer graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1941. He was employed as an electrician at Seattle Tacoma Shipyard.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Portland, Oregon on 10 November 1942.

The plane was shot down by Lt Waldemar Radener of 7.JG26.

T/Sgt Steinseifer's body was one of the two crew members who's remains were found, badly burned, close to the wreckage.

Four crew members were killed, five were taken prisoner.
