Thomas Gray was married to Marion Chavon on 29 June 1943 in Boise, Idaho where he was stationed for pilot training. The bottom picture is their wedding photo, where she poses on the right side. The lady on the left is her sister Irene.

The airplane was shot down by enemy fighters. The entire crew of nine was killed. They were initially buried at the local cemetery of Driedorf.
