S/Sgt Herbert S. Robertson attended Texas A&M College for one year and was employed at B B C Contracting Company.The aircraft received two direct flak hits in the pilot's compartment and nose. It caught fire and went into a steep dive.
Five crew members were killed. They were initially buried at the cemetery of Lechenich.
The pilot was blown out of the plane and was the only survivor.
