''A/C hit by flak and went into spin, no smoke or flames visible. A/C last seen still in spin going into clouds at 8000. Six parachutes came out and were seen to open. Approximate location, 10 miles west of Weissenburg, Germany.''
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Limey, France.
