2/Lt George D. McLaughlin enlisted in Camden, New Jersey on 6 August 1942.S/Sgt William H. Lawrence:
A/C hit by flak and went into spin, no smoke or flames visible. A/C last seen still in spin going into clouds at 8000. Six parachutes came out and were seen to open. Approximate location, 10 miles west of Weissenburg, Germany.
He was killed by gunfire from German troops while in his parachute.
He was first buried at the the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Limey, France.
