1st Lt Alexander Zeece was a meat cutter.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in St. Louis, Missouri on 27 March 1942.

According to a statement from Capt George G. Guyon, who was flying the same mission, Lt Zeece was last heard from at 0930 when he was over the target area. He said he thought his left wing was on fire and did not have enough altitude to bail out.
