More information

2nd Lt George W. Alge graduated from Fostoria High School in 1938 where he participated in several school sports.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States on 28 December 1941 at Fort Hayes, Ohio.

By attacking a locomotive between Werdorf and Ehringshausen, he was probably caught in the blast of a bomb, dropped by a preceding aircraft.

His body was found in the wreckage. Lt Alge was initially buried at the community cemetery of Werdorf.
