2nd Lt Cleo O. Beaty died in a plane accident at the airfield of Ransart, Charleroi, Belgium. This airfield is now called Brussels South.

He was first buried at Ardennes on 8 February 1945. He was the 5th soldier buried at the cemetery when it still had a temporary status.

He was disinterred on 8 October 1948 and his remains were placed in a casket on 20 October 1948. He was given his final resting place in april 1949.
