More information

S/Sgt James B. Soule enlisted in the U.S. Army in Chicago, Illinois on 5 May 1943.

Quote from the Individual Casualty Questionnaire in the Missing Aircrew Report:
"My conclusion as to the fate of James B Soule is that he was Killed In Action as of April 4 1945 over Perlberg, Germany. There was no aid that I could render in the way of saving his life. Ship 544 was attacked by fighters. It was on fire and started to lose altitude. Several chutes were observed as it started into the clouds. James didn“t bail out. His chute accidentally opened and caught on fire. His dog tags were found in the wreckage."
